Literature Text

Sweeping through the town, takes it's victims one by one,
Disappears into a void of doom, until it's deed is done.
Like a blanket it sweeps over, devouring the darkest minds,
leading to their slow and very painful demise.

Deathly and deadly creature, brings pain to all it will meet,
You may be fit and healthy, but you it still shall seek.
Fear your silent enemy, bringing loss to all around,
Search for your salvation, deep beneath the ground.
Just something I came up with. A friend's caption on myspazzles was "The Black Plague" and so it became a title for a poem!

Enjoy. And please comment if you would like. I like feedback :D

Marvelous poem!

So, I'll have to practice more when reading aloud poems so to get the hang of alliteration.

By the way, not only the 2nd line, but the way you finished it:

''Fear your silent enemy, bringing loss to all around,
/Search for your salvation, deep beneath the ground.''

A morbid ending. I love it.

By the way, I hope you can read my poem. It's about the Black Plague too.
